A very substantial and outstanding, somewhat bigger than standard early pine wardrobe, originating from the northern part of the Continent, Denmark or Germany.
Dating from the equivalent of the late Georgian era, 1800 to 1820, this wardrobe was made for a well-to-do household.

ANTIQUE PERIOD PINE DOUBLE WARDROBE IN ORIGINAL PAINT 1850
A very substantial early pine double country wardrobe, originating from the northern parts of the Continent, Scandinavia or Germany.
Dating from the equivalent of the late Georgian era, 1800 to 1840, this wardrobe was made to a very good standard:
- dove tailed construction
- hand forged internal strap hinges and catches
- original hand cut brass escutcheons
- original lock and key
- double panelled sides and doors, deeply fielded
- rounded corners and original intricate dental / bobbin style cornice
- original internal peg board and rail
- fabulous bracket foot base and shoe well ( behind fake drawer fronts)

The condition of this piece is exceptional, the timber of superb quality and density.
The paint, which is extra special, is original, a subtle Gustavian sage green with lighter sage picked out in panels, cornice and base. A chalky flat matt finish with moderate distressing.
A minor amount of scattered old wood worm holes found in the base, see photos 5 and 7.
The wardrobe dismantles for transport and access and is ready to use.
A new brass rail has been fitted inside and this wardrobe has an internal depth of 20"!

One of the best wardrobes we have had lately, harder and harder to find in this condition.

A pretty and petite Louis Philippe painted armoire or small wardrobe.
Conveniently sized for easy transport and access, but big enough to provide ample storage .
Undulating paneled doors ( with original escutcheons, lock and key) open wide to gain access to the storage space. The original rail and hat shelf are intact, upon request shelves could be added.
A deep shoe well adds more stow room below.
Hand carved mouldings with turret style pillars and a graceful arched cornice complete the French look.
All parts of this stylish cupboard are original.
It is painted in a neutral light grey ,slightly distressed and hand waxed.

GEORGIAN PINE LINEN PRESS / HOUSEMAID'S CUPBOARD / LIVERY CUPBOARD
A rare and exceptional Georgian piece of architectural pine furniture.
The quality of craftsmanship is a signature of the Georgian era and this cupboard is no exception.
This substantial piece would have served in a country house as a house maid's cupboard ,a linen press orin the stable to hold harnesses, bridles, horse blankets etc. Most such cupboards are made from mahogany or oak and well sought after.
This one, built in pine would have been painted and decorated.
It retains it's original architectural features, ie. moulded cornice, reeded and break fronted columns, fielded panels in doors and sides, typical small scale dove tail joints in the drawers and high moulded plinth.
The locks in the drawers are original , the door lock is a Victorian replacement. There is a small repair on the left hand door , facing the chunky brass handle.
The cupboard is empty, ready to receive either shelves or a rail, which can be added on request.
Another positive aspect is that this piece can be dismantled, which is handy for transport and access.

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PINE LINEN PRESS / WARDROBE IN ORIGINAL PAINT
An impressive piece of Victorian pine furniture in original scrumbled and decorated finish.
This press was found in untouched condition and has been cleaned lightly to retain its originality.
There is no structural damage, original cornice , 2 large doors with damaged glass handles, lock and key, 2 drawers below , with good glass handles, original bun feet.
Inside the 2 cupboards , which is painted buttermilk cream, are numerous cast iron coat hooks, all intact.
A minimal amount of old woodworm holes were spotted in the roof of the press and have been treated.
The press/wardrobe will dismantle into 4 components for transport and access.

ANTIQUE PINE TRIPLE ARMOIRE / WARDROBE 1890
A fine example of a late 19th century pine triple wardrobe in French style, but originating from Denmark or the northern part of Germany .
It is exceptionally well built, heavy and solid. Although made from pine it bears all attributes of a finer piece of furniture ,
The mouldings and decorative details are well executed, all locks are original, the keys have been replaced.
The decorative linen fold detail on top and middle drawer is oak.
The arched bevelled mirror in the door is original and in beautiful time worn condition.
The wardrobe is divided into a double and two single parts, convenient for ample hanging, original rails are in tact.
The interior depth is exceptional at 565mm/ 22 1/2", so will fit the broadest shoulders!!
The armoire has been professionally stripped and will receive a re-polish before delivery.
There is no structural damage or repairs.
As most continental wardrobes this one also dismantles conveniently for ease of access ( will easily go up even a narrow staircase...) and transport.

ANTIQUE EARLY 19TH CENTURY PINE DOUBLE WARDROBE
A truly magnificent early country pine wardrobe, dating from around 1800, the Biedermeier period. Sourced from the northern parts of the continent, we believe it to be of Danish or German origin.
Very well constructed it retains all original features such as external hand forged iron hinges, hand crafted iron lock with key, brass escutcheons and oak turned bun feet.
Both doors fit well and the original iron catches inside are in working order.
The wardrobe is fitted with a hat shelf and a brass rail .
This wardrobe is plain in style, timeless , the only decorative parts are the turned oak corners top and bottom .
There is no structural damage, no worm and the backboards are intact. The only fault one could find is a small dent in the right hand top corner, please see picture 5.
As most good continental wardrobes this one also dismantles for ease of access and transport.

ANTIQUE PINE DOUBLE WARDROBE
A well proportioned and well constructed antique pine double wardrobe , originating from northern Germany or Denmark.
Made in the middle of the 19th century , showing all attributes of that era , i.e. dove-tailed construction of all box- joints and drawers, paneled and molded doors, fine cornice and carved decorative detail.
Two good sized drawers and substantial turned bun feet complete the picture.
The wardrobe has it's original backboards .The block back feet have been renewed and there is a small repair to the molding on the right hand side of the base. (see photo 2)
As most good quality continental wardrobes this one also dismantles for ease of access and transport.

ANTIQUE DANISH PINE DOUBLE WARDROBE
A beautiful early 19th century pine wardrobe possibly originating from Denmark or northern Germany.
Made in the Biedermeier period, which is comparable to English Regency.
Extremely well built , especially the interesting construction of the rounded tea caddy top and cornice , the two double paneled doors fitted with external hand forged hinges and embossed hand made leather escutcheons and the rounded base concaved .
The overall shape of the wardrobe is plain yet it is interesting in the detail.
There is no damage ,only mellow wear as one would expect. Original lock and key.
The wardrobe has been stripped and wax polished.
Fitted with a new brass rail.
The piece dismantles into six pieces plus back boards for ease of access and transport.

The mirror in the door is a replacement, as it arrived without.

The original cream paint work has been cleaned and wax polished. It does show signs of wear as to be expected on a piece of this age.

ANTIQUE PINE DOUBLE WARDROBE 1820
A handsome large double door pine wardrobe , dating from the early 19th century.
Probably originating from Denmark or northern Germany, with all the hallmarks of a well constructed and well proportioned piece of that era.
It sports original exterior hand forged iron hinges, oval brass escutcheons , working locks and keys, ( the left hand lock and keys are period replacements) and bracket feet. The back feet have been replaced.
As an added bonus , rarely found in wardrobes of this age, 2 spacious dove tailed drawers are located in the base.
Originally a division must have been fitted to divide into hanging and shelved spaces, but it has now been fitted with a new brass rail which spans the whole width. It also has a rare internal depth of 19 1/2".
The colour of the wardrobe is best described as mellow honey , a very warm dark shade of pine.
It has signs of wear, but is exceptionally clean for a piece of this age. Some scattered wood worm holes ,but hardly a concern.
This robe dismantles for easy access and transportation.

The wardrobe dismantles for transport and access and is ready to use. A new brass rail has been fitted inside and this wardrobe has an internal depth of 21 1/2".
The condition of this piece is very good, there is no structural damage.
The plinth and the back feet had to be replaced , they were damaged a long time ago and distracted from the otherwise clean wardrobe.
There are traces of old woodworm holes in the floor panel and a strip of the backboards, but these have been doubly treated. There is no sign of activity.
Altogether a chunky country piece of good proportions , harder and harder to find in this condition.

An especially handsome double door pine wardrobe , dating from the early 19th century.
Probably originating from Denmark or northern Germany, with all the hallmarks of a well constructed and well proportioned piece of that era.
It sports amazing original exterior hand forged iron hinges, decorative brass escutcheons , working lock and key, chunky hand turned hard wood feet.
Both strong doors are double-paneled and framed with intricate mouldings. A complicated triple cornice completes the picture.
As an added bonus , rarely found in wardrobes of this age, 2 spacious dove tailed drawers are located in the base.
The wardrobe has been fitted with a new brass rail which spans the whole width. It also has a rare internal depth of 21 1/2".

ANTIQUE PINE DOUBLE WARDROBE 1840
A fine early pine double wardrobe in very clean condition.
Originating from the northern part of Germany or possibly Denmark, dating back to between 1820 to 1840. The era would be Regency , know in Scandinavia and some continental countries as "Biedermeier".
Made from good Scandinavian yellow pine, close-grained and durable, made by a skilled cabinet maker .
Particularly nice are the paneled doors with finely waved arches, the chunky beading and the interesting moulded returns on the side panels.
A fine cornice and chunky base with turned sycamore feet and two spacious dove-tailed drawers complete the picture.
Replacement clothes rail, lock ,key, escutcheons and wooden knobs have been fitted.
There is no structural damage or worm.
As most continental wardrobes , this one also dismantles for ease of transport and access.
