Description

This is a brilliantly coloured mirror frame, in ancient weathered hardwood found in original 'old' paint, multi layered, tactile and worn.
Made to last with amazing iron hardware and catches.
The doors to protect the mirror have a couple of hand forged iron strengthening bars, spanning the width of each door. One of the strong iron hinges has a brass screw replacing the bar.
The central cover strip is riveted and a beautiful eye shaped clasp is let into the wood.
An additional brass swivel is added at the base of the doors.
Still in the original mainly emerald and green colour scheme, a kaleidoscope of earthy tones, the warm umber timber peeping through.
Astonishingly heavy and solid, useful and decorative, an original piece of architectural country furniture.
New hardware fitted to the back for hanging.
