Description

A rather nice handy medium sized school cupboard, Victorian era.
Made in traditional well executed style and quality, as school and chapel furniture often was, material being pitch pine, heavy...
Nicely proportioned, the two double panelled doors nicely moulded and pin stripe- beaded, brass hinges, a lovely oval brass escutcheon and serious brass hardware inside.
The original lock was replaced a long time ago with yet another original, but a little smaller lock. The key is new, made to fit.
Top and plinth of the cupboard are in good condition, no structural damage or replacement timber.
The interior of the cupboard is shelved, with the odd obligatory ink and school stain, but otherwise clean and usable.
Original wide backboards with a small amount of water damage, see last 2 photos.
The paint is recent, a matt chalky finish, medium pale industrial blue / grey with red and blue under tones.
A useful quality cupboard for all manners of storage.
