Description

A rather sweet little Victorian book press stand, could be as early as 1820.
The press has the usual sturdy 2" square splayed leg base, ( splayes removed on the back legs, so the table can stand against a wall) and normal figuration of 2 drawers, with original fruitwood knobs.
The top, which normally holds the press, sitting within a wooden frame, shows the marks, where said frame has been removed for ease of use.
The single leaf, situated on the left hand side is in good order, including the supports.
The right hand leaf is missing.
The stand has been used and shows signs of industrial past, but is perfectly servicable as a lamp table, side table or hall table, a small piece with lots of character.
The splays on the front legs are quite worn, but standing solidly, some worm in the legs, teated as always.
