Description

A bigger than standard turned leg extending table, dating from late 19th century.
Made by a craftsman, crisply turned hardwood legs, tenon jointed and pegged, in very good condition.
A good looking clean pine top with a bread boarded edge. The leaves show signs of usage, cutting marks.
The base is painted in a mellow Regency blue-grey.
Minimal scattered worm holes, only in the table sides, treated.
Found all over Europe in various styles, this type of table is often found in small farm cottages where it doubled as work and dining table.
This one stems from Hungary and is exceptionally clean and larger than most when extended.
One can see clearly from the photos, two leaves are drawn from both ends to extend one or both sides.
Unopened the table will seat 4 comfortably, opened 6 easily.
A practical table for the smaller space.
