A typical French country table, originating from the centre of France.
Age mid 19th century, made from a fruit wood base, possibly apple or pear and a handsome, characterful chestnut top.
Previously a kitchen or work table, now reduced in height to serve as a sofa or coffee table.
Straight tapered legs, tenon joined and pegged and a deep drawer for storage, a lovely wooden original turned knob and a mellow medium brown top, handsome and tactile.
A good serviceable country table, as original as can be, except for the height.
