A very substantial and exceptionally tidy early pine double wardrobe, originating from the northern Continent, Denmark or Germany.
Special features:
- dove tailed and rounded corner construction
- internal strap hinges and hand made catches
- original iron escutcheons
- original lock and key
- decorative side- and door panels
- sycamore corners and original elaborate cornice
- very nice period colour ( best seen in photo no 8)
- deep shoe well
- intricate mouldings and large sycamore bun feet
- internal depth of 520mm!!
- all original fittings and back boards
As most continental wardrobes, this one also dismantles for easy access and transport.
The condition of this piece is very good, no structural repairs and no damage other than slight wear.
Altogether a substantial country piece of good proportions, a period wardrobe not easy to find in this condition.
