antique edwardian painted pine architect's plan chest 1910

Item Ref

A rare find, a really decent solid pine architect's plan chest, dating back to Edwardian times, Globe Wernicke era and style.
Amazingly well made, panelled sides, solid pine drawer bottoms and a good thick, now stripped pine top.
All the drawers are running well, have the original oak draw handles and original, cleaned label holders.
The chest is large and would suit a large room, to serve as a coffee table or low display table.
It sits on added metal castors, so can easily be moved around.
The paint is recent, Farrow and Ball's 'Pavilion Grey', which suits the chest perfectly, showing off a glimpse of industrial past...
The pine top is surprisingly clean, yet shows the mellow aged patina you would expect from an over 100 year old piece.
No stuctural damage, no repairs or worm.
Glad to have found this, shame there is not enough space in our house!
