antique french fruit picking ladders in original paint

Item Ref

A not too tall set of French fruit picking ladders, made in pine and found in a time worn original colour scheme.
Traditional tapered style, the top part of the two ladders fitting inside each other, connected by a sturdy iron bar, bolted through.
A well used old rope is holding the ladders when opened.
The poles of the ladders are undamaged and covered in a very faded muted colour scheme, greys, blues, creams, with an ancient, very tactile craquelure finish.
The rungs are also painted, but worn down to the pine, the kind of natural wear one cannot copy or reproduce.
Stemming from the north east of France, Cidre country.. dating around 1920.
Very sturdy and good to use, cleaned, but left un-polished.
A wonderful decorative prop, shop display / shop fitting, clothes rack, towel rail, focal point, the uses are many..
580mm wide at the base
2000mm high
