antique pine storage larder linen cupboard old paint 1870

Item Ref

An early rural piece of antique pine, found in old but maybe not original paint, originating from northern Europe, 1870.
Double door construction, plain single panels, external forged iron hinges, decorative brass escutcheons and knobs, working lock and key.
The cupboard is in excellent condition with no structural damage.
The dove tailed construction plainly visible on the top, see photo no 4.
No damage, no repairs, the interior and shelves have been cleaned, but there are signs of usage. Minimal worm in the backboards, treated as always.
The paint is a warm worn parchmenty colour, with a dark buff shade shining through, plenty of craquelure all over.
In places the paint is worn to the lovely mellow pine below. Overall the paint is in good condition and shows the aged charm of old paint, so hard to reproduce.
A cupboard for many loctions, simple yet decorative, true country style!
1260mm wide
1310mm high
425mm deep
