antique pine stacking storage cupboard

Item Ref

A rare and interesting pine stacking cupboard or deed safe, usually found in solicitor's or dignitary's offices for safe keeping of documents and deeds.
The idea is to be able to grab the cupboard sections and take to safety when needed, maybe in the case of fire or flood.
Not often found complete, as the cupboard sections can easily be separated over time.
This is a late 19th century example, heavy and impressive, featuring a deeply moulded cornice, reeded detail, finely moulded panelled doors and intricate mouldings.
Big iron carrying handles on each section, original turned hardwood feet.
Dove tailed construction throughout, a very well constructed piece indeed.
The cupboard is in excellent condition, no damage, no worm.
Every section has a working lock and key and is fitted with one shelf.
Stripped and hand waxed for protection.
Easy for access and to transport as it separates into the three sections.
Very happy to have found this gem....useful in lounge, kitchen, office etc.
