A quite early continental double wardrobe, dating back to about 1860 to 1880.
Originating from the northern part of Europe, possibly Denmark or Germany,a pleasing elegant design, with fielded panelled sides, well defined break front cornice, fielded panelled double doors,reeded and carved detail, original iron escutcheons, lock and key.
The front feet are period replacements.
Note worthy are the 2 spacious dove tailed drawers, original wooden knobs.
The colour is a very warm mellow yellow pine, the timber dating back to the century before!
No repairs were necessary apart from the feet, the wardrobe has been stripped and professionally hand polished.
A new rail has been fitted.
As standard with continental wardrobes this one also dismantles for ease of transport and access.
