Description

A fine antique continental pine double wardrobe of small proportions.
Originating from northern Germany or Denmark, this wardrobe was made for a good house, the quality of the timber and craftsmanship prove that.
Date: 1850 to 1870
The very classic lines are accentuated by the 3 panelled doors and the elaborate bracket foot base.
This wardrobe has panelled doors and sides, original bone escutcheons, lock and working key. A new brass rail has been fitted inside.
There is no structural damage, just the normal signs of wear on a piece this age.Some historic wood worm holes are scattered here and there, treated as always. (see photos 3 and 8).
Two spacious drawers provide extra storage.
As most continental wardrobes this one also dismantles for ease of transport and access.
A genuine piece of period pine,stripped and sanded, ready to wax or paint, your choice.
