Description

A bigger than standard turned leg extending table, dating from mid 19th century.
Made by a craftsman, crisply turned hardwood legs, tenon jointed and pegged, in very good condition.
A particularly clean pine top with a moulded edge.
Found all over Europe in various styles, this type of table is often found in small farm cottages where it doubles as work and dining table.
This one stems from Hungary and is exceptionally clean and larger than most when extended.
One can see clearly from the photos, the double top flips over to open, then swivels to double the surface.
The base has been painted over the original brown scrumble in a warm pale country blue from the Crown Historic Range.
Added bonus is the storage space below, handy for kitchen utensils or cloths etc.
This one also has a small utensil drawer in the long side.
Unopened the table will seat 4 comfortably, opened 6 easily.
A practical table for the smaller space.
