A rare single period pine wardrobe, dating back to the early 19th century, Regency / Biedermeier / Empire period.
Origin is northern Europe, most likely Denmark or Northern Germany, made from the finest Scandinavian pine.
Style typically simple with clean lines and minimal ornamentation:
* plain country style
* fielded panels,front and sides
* external hand forged hinges,
* original pewter escutcheon
* original wooden knobs on the drawer
* original lock and key
* original high bracket feet
The wardrobe is exceptionally clean throughout, it looks like it was made yesterday... but it is nearly 200 years old.
Internal depth is good for hanging, 18 3/4".
It also has a shelf supports, so could easily be shelved , a brass rail is already fitted.
It conveniently dismantles for access and transport .
A handy size wardrobe for the smaller space, with easy access.
