A really exceptional period pine wardrobe, dating back to the early 19th century, Regency / Biedermeier / Empire period.
Origin is northern Europe,most likely Sweden, Denmark or Germany, made from the finest Scandinavian pine.
Style typically simple with clean lines and minimal but striking ornamentation:
* precise mouldings,
* double fieded panels,front and sides
* external hand forged hinges,
* lozenge brass escutcheon, working lock and key
* roll top cornice, top craftsmanship
The wardrobe is clean throughout, , a minimal amount of worm in the base of the bracket feet, negligible.
Internal depth is good, 20".
It also has a ladder shelf system, so could easily be shelved,as well as two rail supports,at 32" and 54" height for two rows of hanging space.
It dismantles for access and transport .
